Uric Acid Foods to Avoid

What is Urid Acid or gout and what are Uric Acid food? Uric acid is being made by different kind of plant and animal based foods. What is the basic functionality of human kidney? Kidney extracts uric acid from food and sends it to Urine side. Avoid such kind of food that contains high level of purine concentration. When your uric acid level increases, it can cause to create a kidney stone. The uric acid crystals combine and make a shape of stone. To control the uric acid level, always rely on such foods that contain less level of Uric acid.

Steer Clear of High-Fat Foods

A diet full of high fat may create some conflict with your kidney and may yield uric acid that is in your body and blood. Avoid uric acid food like ice creams and dairy products like milk, baked stuffs such as cakes that might contain huge amount of fat. Try to avoid fried food or cheese based foods.

Avoid Certain Vegetables

Although vegetables contain less amount of uric acid but still try to avoid some of them as they contains 50 to 150 milligrams purines in per 100 grams. These vegetables include mushrooms, beans, cauliflower, spinach, etc. Try not to exceed than two servings of these vegetables per week. 1 serving means ½ cup cooked vegetable or 1 cup raw vegetables.

Take It Easy on the Protein

Eat only a suitable amount of animal based protein that is 6 ounces daily or 3 ounces in meal. Seafood, poultry and meat contain high amount of purine and should be avoided. Organ meat for example kidneys, goose, liver, shellfish, anchovies and herring are lying in the same category. Fishes like salmon, beef lean cuts should be eaten in moderation.

Other High-Purine Foods

Other uric acid food contain all kind of meat extracts like soups that are rich in purine compounds. Some alcohol like beer also contains high amount of purines. Alcohol produce high amount of purines that increase the uric acid level.
