I am sure you have heard this question, or something similar, more than once. However, asking this particular question can be a good way to get a sense of how well the interviewee can explain his/her history and how well he/she can handle being under the spotlight.

  • What Are Your Strengths And Weaknesses?

There is not a single candidate that would not be asked about his/her strengths and weaknesses at some point in an interview. Ensure you ask the question to encourage the candidate to elaborate on their response.

  • Are You Happy With Your Career-To-Date?

The question is very important and usually comes up at the end of an interview. Candidates need to be prepared to answer this question in a manner that will not make them appear lacking in honesty but also in a manner that will not leave the interviewer thinking that they are just looking for work.

  • What Would You Like To Change About Your Current Job?

It is another very important question and one that may give you an idea of how the candidate would respond if he or she were faced with any type of change within their current job. Ensure you ask the question to encourage the interviewee to be honest without worrying about their response.

  • What Are Your Long-Term Goals?

Then comes this question. It is another question that can give insight into how the candidate may respond when faced with change within his or her job. Make sure to ask this question in a manner that will not make it seem as if you are looking for a specific answer, but rather one that allows the candidate to respond in his or her own words.

  • What Have Your Achievements Been To Date?

This question is one of the important questions, and revolve around the same idea. The key here is to ask about the candidate’s achievements, not his faults. On the other hand, you should definitely avoid asking horseshoe questions such as “What have you done well?” or offensive questions such as “What mistakes have you made?”

  • Why Are You Looking For A New Position With Our Company?

By replying to this question, you will help determine what values and personality characteristics your potential candidates may possess. This question can also help you determine your best candidate and who will cause your company the most problems by interviewing them.

  • What Is The Most Challenging Situation You Have Faced In Your Career To Date?

This question lets you know how the candidate responded when faced with any kind of problem. It also helps you understand how well the potential candidate would handle any situation within your company.

  • What Do You Know About Us As A Company?

It can be one of the questions among them. Indeed, it helps you to know if the interviewee has an overall understanding of your business and what motivates people to work for your organization.
